Michael Castello has become a self made millionaire from owning domain names. But he has not always been a millionaire. He started out as a young kid in Little Italy, a section of the Bronx in New York. When he was a young kid, his family moved to Florida, where he would join a band in high school with his brother. Michael played the guitar and his brother played the drums. Their band, The Flying Tigers, won the South Florida Battle of the Bands, which at that time and place was no small feat. After that win, both Michael and his brother got the music bug. They packed up a van and went to New York, where they lived and rehearsed in the hopes of making it big. Michael remembered living in an apartment above where the popular band Blondie rehearsed and they would fall asleep while listening to their music.

In the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, Michael became interested in this new thing called the Internet. He figured that if he could combine his music with the internet and build a business off of that and this would be a great opportunity. In 1991, Michael started a company named Powwow Productions for the purpose of promoting his music on the internet. In order to do so, Michael had to learn a variety of web tools. He came across the Columbia University website and learned everything that would help him in his future business. He started with that and the rest, they say, is history!
