Internet Entrepreneurs

We all have dreams of making it big in our own business and enjoying a life free of bosses and grueling schedules. With the advent of the internet, the opportunities presented to those of us with an entrepreneurial spirit are virtually limitless. Here is a brief overview of some of the most successful entrepreneurs on the net today.

Mark Zuckerberg struck gold with the social interactive community of Facebook. Founded in 2004, Facebook is a social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, families and coworkers. Zuckerberg is responsible for setting the general direction of the site and continues to oversee the design of Facebook's service and development. He studied computer science at Harvard and has since moved the company to Palo Alto, CA.

At age 17, Ashley Qualls is fast on her way to creating an internet empire with her innovative site, Whateverlife.com, which goes slightly beyond MySpace and Facebook. She is the perfect example of how anonymity on the net is a very real phenomenon. Ian Moray of ValueClick Media happened upon her site last year and had no idea that she was so young, he was surprised to discover her tender age. It just goes to show that age is no limitation on the World Wide Web. Ashley has dropped out of school, bought a house and even turned down big bucks offers to buy out her young company since its launch almost 3 years ago.

A running theme in the world of internet entrepreneurs is this; most of them are just like us. One such success story, or two depending on how you look at it, is that of the Castello brothers, David and Michael. This team has very successfully morphed themselves from struggling musicians into domain millionaires. They own hundreds of popular .com domains and they show no signs of stopping. In fact, they were just awarded both the Domainers Rising Star and Domain Ambassador Awards for 2008.
